Invoice Clerk/Cashier

Location: Vallejo, CA

Big Creek Lumber Company, a leading supplier of lumber and building materials in Central California, has a current opening for an Invoice Clerk/Cashier to join the team at our Watsonville location and another opening at our Vallejo Location. This is an informal yet professional work environment with frequent repeat customers and a cheerful, energetic team. Big Creek actively develops employees to grow into other positions on the team so this is a great entry role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide a high level of service to customers with maximum courtesy, efficiency, and accuracy to encourage repeat business
  • Invoice customer purchases
  • Cashier
  • Greet customers and direct them to appropriate product or person
  • Process transactions according to established procedures with maximum speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Effectively increase store sales by ensuring that customers have everything needed to complete their projects
  • Work cooperatively with other employees to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assist with stocking shelves with hardware items


  • Good basic computer, business math skills and highly accurate keyboard skills
  • Ability to learn the products carried by Big Creek, including necessary terminology and product codes
  • Good organizational skills
  • Cashiering experience and outstanding cash handling skills
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. from the ground into the bed of a standard size pick-up truck
  • Positive, pleasant, professional demeanor
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required


  • Full-time; day shift; within business hours of 7AM-5PM; Mon-Sat

Compensation including benefits:
