Employee Spotlight

How long have you worked at Big Creek? I’ve been an employee for five years and two months. I was occasionally a contractor for Big Creek prior to that.

What is your favorite part of working for Big Creek? Taking care of well managed forests is very rewarding. The company takes great pride in their practices. I really like the people I work with also.

What’s your favorite product that we sell? Redwood lumber of course! It’s beautiful and rot resistant.

What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy playing salsa, rumba, and samba on the conga drum and seeing the sights of the bay area with friends.

October Market Report

September proved to be an eventful month with reduced log supply due to forest fires on the west coast and hurricanes on the east coast. All three markets (green Douglas Fir / OSB / plywood) were firm to up.  This trend should continue through October with prices continuing to move higher with some shortages popping up.
