Future Farmers of America
Big Creek Lumber recently collaborated with the Future Fa
rmers of America (FFA) chapter at Templeton High School to manufacture a professional-grade steel gate for Big Creek’s Valencia Forest property in Santa Cruz County.
Big Creek Forester Cory Carlson contacted Templeton High welding instructor Landon Sudberry, who led the project with his Advanced FFA welding class. They enthusiastically accepted the project. Our assessment of the finished gate is that the welding and metal work are excellent. Students Ryland Maurer, Nathan Pope, and Kolby Pickard (pictured below) along with Braden Wheeler and Chris Ginther contributed to building the gate.
In return, Big Creek donated $1,000 to Templeton High’s FFA program. Our company has a long history of supporting programs that promote the Trades.
