Newly Elected Farm Bureau President!

Big Creek Lumber Company Chief Forester Dennis Webb was recently elected to a two-year term as President of the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau. Dennis’ election continues a long history of cooperation between the local forestry community and the Farm Bureau. Four local Registered Professional Foresters will now have served as Farm Bureau Presidents. This includes former Big Creek Chief Forester Mike Jani.

Regarding current Farm Bureau issues Dennis said; “I see agriculture relying more on technology to meet the challenges we’re facing We’re always asked to do more with less – less water, less labor, less farmland. But the demand for local, sustainably-grown food and fiber is not going away. New technologies and new approaches are going to keep our growers competitive.”
