Big Creek Lumber Company, a leading supplier of lumber and building materials in central California, seeks a Contractor Sales for our Santa Cruz retail yard. This position has substantial growth potential for someone with a strong interest in both sales and the construction industry.
What you’ll do:
- Perform inside sales with contractors, homeowners and walk-in customers on the phone and in the store
- Determine customer needs
- Efficiently and accurately generate customer quotes
- Place orders for stock and special order material
- Ensure that customer orders progress smoothly from quote through delivery
- Build, grow and service a strong customer base
- Deal with any customer concerns in a pleasant, professional, effective manner
- Perform other job related office functions
What you bring:
- A good practical knowledge of building materials and construction terminology
- Outstanding phone skills
- Good organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to deal with interruptions without losing focus on a specific task that needs to be done
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with others to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus

What your schedule will be:
- Full-time on-site
- Monday-Friday plus occasional Saturdays
- Shift may vary, covering business hours from 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
