After the CZU Complex Fire burned through significant portions of Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties, the Wall Street Journal sent reporters and photographers to our sawmill near Davenport. On October 14th they ran a story about the resilience of Big Creek Lumber, its owners, employees and neighbors. The article can be viewed here:

As you probably know, our sawmill survived the fire and is now back in operation. This will result in better availability of redwood lumber.

Market Report

The green Douglas Fir market has been adjusting over the last Month with wide’s still being hard to source. Plywood has also started to adjust and products are easier to find. OSB market has remained stable over last month with little product available. Look for these markets to continue to correct over the month.
