Big Creek Lumber Company, a leading supplier of lumber and building materials in central California, seeks a Outside Sales Representative to develop contractor business at our Vallejo location. Our ideal candidate has a passion for sales and customer service as well as an interest in construction and experience with lumber and building materials. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect for new customers
- Develop successful, long-term-relationships
- Perform sales with contractors and homeowners on the phone and customer job sites
- Ensure a high level of customer service for all projects sold
- Increase sales to existing customers
- Achieve individual and branch sales and profitability goals
Requirements:
- Excellent sales and customer service skills
- Good practical knowledge of building materials and construction terminology
- Ability to work effectively with others to obtain a high level of customer satisfaction and promote Big Creek’s image in a positive manner
- Good computer skills, including ability to use technology effectively to build customer base
- Highly effective communication skills, particularly outstanding phone skills
- Self-disciplined with good organizational skills
- Positive, personable, professional attitude
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. from the ground into the bed of a standard size pick-up truck
- Current California driver’s license with clean DMV record
Commission based compensation with benefits including:
- Based salary for first 6 months until established; generous commission program thereafter
