Location: Watsonville, CA
Responsible for providing a high level of service to customers with maximum courtesy, efficiency, and accuracy to encourage repeat business. Invoice customer purchases, cashier, assist customers on the sales floor, assist with ordering and stock store products. Effectively increase store sales. Work cooperatively with other employees to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Greet customers and direct them to appropriate item or person; thank customers for their business.
- Perform cashiering tasks, including

- Receiving cash and making proper change
- Receiving checks, credit card purchases or payments on accounts.
- Assist in answering phones.
- Perform invoicing from tags written by salespeople from the store or yard, or from customers with merchandise at your counter; invoice by point-of-sale computer system (or by hand when computers are down).
- Provide back-up sales floor coverage as needed to increase store sales by effectively closing sales and generating add-on sales.
- Process all paperwork according to established flow; perform filing.
- Acquire an understanding of the products carried by Big Creek Lumber, including necessary terminology and product codes.
- Assist with ordering store products, as well as price labeling, stocking merchandise, and maintaining a high level of housekeeping in the store.
- Perform other related duties as needed and directed by supervisor.

- Must have outstanding cash handling skills.
- Perform 10-key by touch with a high level of accuracy.
- Have legible hand writing and good basic math skills.
- Dress in a clean, neat, professional manner that is appropriate for the job.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. from the ground into the bed of a standard size pick-up truck.
- Demonstrate safe work habits at all time.
- Knowledge of building materials is preferred.
Schedule:
Mon-Sat. with one day off mid-week. Shift will vary during business hours from 6:45 AM to 5:30 PM; must be willing to work a flexible schedule in response to business needs; hours will vary with changes in business conditions.
Rate of Pay: $19-20/hr
