Inventory Control/Floor Sales

Location: Watsonville, CA

Provides a high level of customer service to our walk in customers.  Maintain aisles within the retail store, keeping them well stocked, neat and clean with the assistance of Purchasing Agent.  Requires general knowledge of construction items including, but not limited to, lumber, plumbing, stains, electrical, roofing, and tools.  Individual must be highly organized, but flexible.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Greet each customer within 10 seconds of entering store, with a smile.
  • Perform cycle counts accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and safe retail store by noting obstructions and correcting, removing empty boxes, peg hooks, dusting and sweeping.
  • Print and update bin labels as needed for price changes.
  • Effectively use computer system to quote prices, check inventory levels, research products, and create labels for shelves.
  • Maintain knowledge level of products in all departments as to how and where they are utilized: lumber, plywood, hardware, stains, tools, basic plumbing, electrical.
  • Process customer returns in an accurate and expedient manner with all necessary information.
  • Maintain shelves stocked and keep shelves neat and clean and tagged correctly.
  • Attend product knowledge classes as they are offered to expand knowledge.
  • Focus on projects and cleanliness during any slow or slack times is imperative.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs. to 80lbs.
  • Basic math skills.

Hours: 7-4 or 8-5 Monday-Saturday, with one day off mid-week, need to be flexible. Hours may vary due to changes in business conditions.
