Employee Spotlight

Dan James – Facilities Maintenance Foreman

How long have you worked at Big Creek? I have worked at Big Creek for six years.

What is your favorite part of working for Big Creek? I enjoy working with all of the people at Big Creek! I get to work with many people throughout the company from our sawmill to our lumber yards and beyond. Another highlight is getting to interact with our customers. My other favorite part of it is working at the sawmill, at its scenic location  overlooking the ocean.

What’s your favorite product that we sell? I really like working with Hardie Board because it is both weather resistant and has aesthetic values. And of course, I love the redwood. I work with our redwood almost daily and it is hard to beat.

What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy mountain biking, fishing and hanging out with my family.

1. Minimalist Modern Structure
In architecture, the minimalist modern home leaves more to the imagination at first glance, vastly different from Art Deco, Victorian, and other ornate design aesthetics. The real question is: How open is too open.

August Market Report

All three markets, Green Doug Fir, Western Sheathing, and OSB have pushed higher in July some items matching highs.

Demand is higher than production, and wild fire danger could slow logging, so expect prices to be firm into August.
