Mike Campana, Half Moon Bay
How long have you worked at Big Creek?
I’ve worked at Big Creek for over 25 years. Recently I transitioned from Outside Sales Rep to a part time, “Jack of all trades” Employee at the Half Moon Bay location so I have more time to do the outdoor activities that I love.
What is your favorite part of working for Big Creek?
I enjoy working with our customers and our employees.
What’s your favorite product that we sell?
My favorite product is our con heart redwood decking.
What do you like to do for fun?
My favorite things to do are skiing, climbing, fishing and hanging out with my family.
In a world of high employment and labor shortages, firms around the country are struggling to recruit new employees. One contractor in Indiana is taking steps to change that.
The Jack Laurie Group, a company that specializes in commercial and residential flooring, has created what it calls “the nation’s only merit shop floor covering apprenticeship program,” according to a Jan. 18 press release.
“This is a huge opportunity for the entire construction industry and the men and women who strive to make it their profession, and we are optimistic about the impact the program will have on the local economy,” said Tom Postell, Jack Laurie vice president of operations and chief architect of the program. “I feel responsible for finding, developing and supporting the next generation of construction tradespeople here at Jack Laurie Group and in our communities. Ultimately, the success of our company depends upon it.”
February Market Report
Looking forward into February, demand in all three markets, (Green Douglas Fir, Plywood and OSB) is higher than production.
That said look for February to have higher prices and possible shortages. Stay in touch with your Big Creek sales representative for up to date market conditions and lead times.
